Introduction
This document outlines the required E-Learning modules for all new staff at Tufts Medicine Care at Home (TMCAH). These modules are an essential component of orientation and are designed to establish foundational knowledge, support regulatory compliance, and promote safe, effective, and equitable care across all disciplines.
- E-Learnings are assigned based on role and discipline to ensure that each staff member receives relevant, role-specific education, in addition to completing core training required across TMCAH.
Expectations
- Staff are expected to complete all assigned modules within the designated timeframe. E-Learnings are categorized to support clarity in assignment:
- “All TMCAH Staff” – required for all staff
- “All Clinical Staff” – required for any staff involved in patient care
- Additional modules may be assigned based on discipline, role, and/or care setting
Completion of assigned E-Learnings is required as part of each staff member’s orientation and competency validation process. Each module includes instructions for documenting completion through attestations and/or quizzes, which serve as verification of participation and understanding.

We Honor Veterans Program – Introduction
Tufts Medicine Care at Home is proud to participate in the We Honor Veterans program, a national initiative designed to improve care for Veterans across all healthcare settings. This program focuses on recognizing the unique needs of Veterans and ensuring they receive respectful, informed, and compassionate care throughout their healthcare journey.
While this program is often associated with hospice care, its principles apply to all clinical staff, regardless of role or setting. Many of the patients we serve have a history of military service, and that experience can significantly influence their health, preferences, and interactions with the healthcare system.
Why This Matters - Veterans may have:
- Unique physical and mental health considerations related to their service
- Experiences that impact trust, communication, and care preferences
- A strong sense of identity tied to their military service
Recognizing and honoring this background is an essential part of delivering person-centered, trauma-informed, and equitable care.
Expectations for Clinical Staff - All clinical staff are expected to:
- Ask and identify Veteran status when appropriate
- Acknowledge and honor service in a respectful and meaningful way
- Recognize potential service-related health and psychosocial needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community resources, including Veteran-specific supports when indicated
Our Commitment - Through participation in the We Honor Veterans program, TMCAH is committed to:
- Increasing awareness of Veteran-specific needs
- Providing staff education and resources
- Promoting dignity, respect, and recognition for those who have served
This education is part of our broader commitment to delivering high-quality, equitable care to every patient we serve.
