Welcome to the 2025 Annual Skills and Compliance Training Portal

Between November 2025 and January 2026, all Tufts Medicine Care at Home staff will complete their annual skills and compliance validations through the Skills Fair.

This process fulfills the mandatory regulatory requirements set forth by CMS, OSHA, state Departments of Public Health, and professional licensure boards, while reinforcing best practices across VNA, Hospice, and High Pointe House teams.

Purpose of the Skills Fair

The Skills Fair is designed to
  • Ensure staff competency, consistency, and safety in the care we provide.

It gives clinicians the opportunity to:
  • Demonstrate continued proficiency in key clinical and operational skills.
  • Refresh knowledge on current standards and safety practices.
  • Collaborate across disciplines in a shared learning environment that reflects our “One Team” approach.

Each staff member is assigned to attend during their team’s scheduled Skills Fair session, which replaces their usual team meeting during this period.

Scheduling and Attendance

Attendance at your assigned team session is expected.
  • If you are unable to attend your team’s scheduled time, a make-up session may be offered on a Monday or Friday, depending on availability.
  • Because these sessions require additional resources and limited staffing, attendance outside your scheduled session is strongly discouraged.

Please note that make-up sessions may:
  • Have fewer staff available for assistance.
  • Extend beyond the typical length of a team session.
  • Occur later in the schedule as time allows.

We understand that circumstances occasionally require flexibility! If you need an accommodation or special consideration, please reach out to Nicole Tsoukalas or Luis Vargas directly so we can coordinate support appropriately.

How to Use This Page

This site serves as your central hub for everything related to the 2025 Annual Skills and Compliance Training.
All resources, schedules, and reference materials are organized by discipline to make preparation and participation as straightforward as possible.

1. Review Your Assigned Team Session
  • Locate your team’s Skills Fair date and time on the schedule section of this site.
  • Attendance during your assigned session is required. This ensures that skills are validated within your clinical team and that all staff receive consistent support and observation.

2. Explore Your Team Section: Each Team & Discipline (Nursing, Rehab, Social Work, and Home Health Aides) has a dedicated section that includes:
  • Required skills and competencies
  • Checklists for observation and validation
  • Quick reference sheets or videos (as applicable)
  • Use these materials to review expectations before your scheduled session.

3. Prepare in Advance: Prior to your Skills Fair:
  • Review your assigned skills.
  • Ensure your clinical bag and PPE are complete and ready for validation.
  • Watch or read any linked reference materials for refreshers on technique or safety.

4. Participate and Demonstrate:
  • During your team’s Skills Fair, you’ll move through validation stations under observation.
  • If you are unable to demonstrate a skill successfully after two attempts, a remediation session will be scheduled on November 19th for focused 1:1 review and re-evaluation.

5. Make-Up Sessions (If Needed)
  • As noted above, make-up sessions are limited and may occur on Mondays or Fridays, depending on availability and staffing resources.

6. Need Assistance or Accommodation?
  • If you need an accommodation or encounter barriers to participation, please reach out directly to: Nicole Tsoukalas, Manager of Clinical Staff Development and/or Luis Vargas, Education Specialist

We’re here to ensure that every staff member can successfully complete all required competencies while maintaining the high standards of care that define Tufts Medicine Care at Home.
