Systemic Steroids
Systemic Steroids:
- Are takenby mouth as a pill. Affects the entire body.
- Steroids can have many side effects if taken over a long period.
- Avoid some of the side effects by limiting salt intake and avoiding high-calorie foods.
- Always take with food or milk.
- Tell your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or stomach ulcers before taking steroids.
- If taking steroids for long-term, wear a Medic Alert bracelet or necklace that shows you are taking systemic steroids.
