Over-the-Counter Medications
Some of the short-acting inhalers are available without
a prescription at drug stores. These medications may
cost less than the bronchodilator inhalers the doctor
prescribes, but they don’t save money in the long run.
They are much less effective and are used more often
to get the benefit prescription medicines provide. They
can also be dangerous. It’s best not to use over-the-counter
inhalers without the guidance of a physician.
